The Temple

Wat Buddha Johannesburg &
Johannesburg Meditation Centre
‘Wat’ is a typical Thai way of calling a ‘Temple.’ Wat Buddha Johannesburg is understood as the Buddhist Temple of Johannesburg. Founded as small Johannesburg Meditation Centre (JMC) in Randburg in November 2006, it was named later as a temple in October 2007 in the Cradle of Humankind. And in March 2011, it was re-located in Halfway House, Midrand.
Based on the concept of inner peace, the main focus of the temple’s activities is to provide facilities for the meditation. On Sunday at 10 a.m. the regular meditation class is open for public peace-seekers.
